Yesterday afternoon the Daily Mail published this story about ex Westlife singer Brian McFadden complaining on Twitter that Ryan Air charged him £80 in excess baggage fees and an additional £70 to print a boarding card.
had so much i wanted to say about my ryanair experience today but ill keep it simple. MICHAEL O LEARY you’re a scumbag who exploits ….pt 1

pt 2 hard working people and tricks them out of their money with your ridiculous loop holes. youare stealing from your own people!

With over 1000 reader comments posted in less than 24hours its clear just how contentious growing airline charges have become. With no consistency throughout the industry and airlines offering vastly varying and often seasonal luggage policies, we can understand this mass frustration.
Ryan Air charges are however not a secret, they are prominently linked to on their website and are robustly defended by their management.
The lesson therefore appears to be, whether we like it or not, that as part of the modern travellers’ routine we must check our chosen airline’s fee information before travelling.
If Mr McFadden had looked on the Ryan Air website before travelling he would have discovered fees this summer can include:
1 x 20kgs bag £35-£45 (one way - when booked online)
1 x Sports Equipment £50 (one way - when booked on online)
Excess weight £20 per Kg. (one way)
So whilst this information can be found easily, once you have it, it’s up to the savvy traveller to make use of it.
At only £30 to send 30kgs from the UK to Spain, at Sendmybag we’re experiencing a marked increase in the number of early bookings for this summer, it’s clear to us an ever growing number of people are indeed this new breed of traveller – welcome to Sendmybag & enjoy your holidays!
