Top Tips for using SendMyBag this Ski Season

With low cost airline charges rising and legacy carriers reducing luggage allowances more ski workers and holidaymakers are turning to SendMyBag. We’ve compiled the below top tips for getting the best out of our airline beating service:


-    If you’re staying at accommodation which does not receive regular post or courier deliveries please enquire with your resort as to the best collection & delivery point. Hotels and resorts will have facilities available to holiday makers but do ensure you speak with them before booking. If you’re a seasonaire your employer or fellow ski workers will be able to offer advice on the best drop off and pick up locations.

-    Due to the nature of ski resorts accessibility can change from day to day, weather conditions within a 50 mile radius can have a knock on effect for the collection / delivering drivers. We advise you to send a couple of days ahead of our estimate and send to a resort address were someone is always available to sign. A similar address should be used for collections; in the event the collection is required to take place after your chosen date having it collected from a resort address as opposed to a personal accommodation address will save any disruption.

-    As standard SendMyBag does not call ahead before a collection takes place however in some areas this may be necessary, if you receive a call from an unknown number please answer it. Please also provide a local telephone number as the collecting driver cannot call an international mobile. If you are unable to provide a local number and your collection does fail please request a free call back from SendMyBag or use one of our local rate international numbers.

-    Measure your items accurately. In the case of ski and snowboard gear, bags can get quite bulky, SendMyBag prices are based on both size & weight. Items are measured electronically by a laser scan and if your item has larger dimensions an extra charge will be due, to avoid any surprises measure from the longest / widest points. We also advise tying down any straps that may flap around.

-    We encourage you to extend your cover during the booking process to £250 per item. If your gear is valued at more than £250 please ensure you have home (valuable items outside the home clause) or travel insurance in place to cover you to the full value you require – speak to your insurer before travel.

-    Label your item, request free SendMyBag label holders and use these to securely attach you delivery and tracking labels.

-    Track online, download our app or use our mobile site to watch you bag move every step of the way.
